Modern Volleyball Gear: A Mom’s Perspective

One day a few years ago, I went online to look for some volleyball gear and gifts. Google “volleyball gifts” or “volleyball shirt” sometime and see the thousands of options that come up. There are many, many private sellers out here in the internet ocean with endless products, accessories, and volleyball apparel. I just couldn’t find ‘my style.’ I wondered what was out there for middle-aged mamas who dressed in more muted colors and a little more– let’s just say- understated. I kept running into online shops filled with ribbons, giant Game Day logos, and even sequins. Nope. Not for me.

Swimming Against The Volleyball Current

Evidently, I was swimming against the volleyball current, just trying to find a volleyball shirt or hat that suited my taste. As a more mature adult, I prefer more muted colors and a style that is understated- yet still showcases my love for the sport. The vibrant and flashy options that flooded my search results just didn’t resonate with me.

I yearned for something that would reflect my personality and aesthetics, something significantly different from the usual offerings. It was disheartening to see the lack of variety in the online shops I came across. Everywhere I looked, it was all about big and bold statement logos or colors – elements that didn’t align

A Modern Take On Volleyball Gifts

Rather than letting frustration consume me, I saw an opportunity. I realized that if I couldn’t find what I was looking for, there must be other volleyball enthusiasts like me who felt the same way. Therefore, I took matters into my own hands and create a store for those who preferred a more modern approach to their volleyball apparel. Hence, On Trend Volleyball Co. was born.

 

 

The design process has been fun, new and frustrating all at the same time. The learning curve? Steep. However, the rewards have been greater than I expected! What I’m going for is stylish yet understated volleyball accessories for moms, fans and players. I intentionally choose a range of muted colors for tasteful shirts, sweatshirts for an added a touch of class, I hope my online store can become a haven for those seeking volleyball gear that speaks to their personal style. Maybe I really did make this shop for me– a middle-aged mom looking for apparel that allows me to express my love for the game without compromising my fashion sensibilities.

On Trend Volleyball Company was established in November 2023. I opted for the print on demand method, which is highly saturated with many sellers. The process of setting up my printing vendors and sales channels went smoothly. However, running these shops is more challenging than I anticipated. It feels like taking care of a newborn baby, requiring constant attention. Two things surprise me in this current journey: first, how effortlessly the design ideas came to me. Within a month, I created over 100 items that can be ordered and fulfilled by my chosen print providers. Second, I realized that there are endless possibilities in terms of volleyball player gear, mom and dad gear, volleyball-themed decor, and accessories. I feel as though I have many ideas, but never enough time to bring them all to life.
